IRI - Indiana Regional Invitational Competition
July 31 - Aug 1, 2009

Team 1720 traveled to Indianapolis to Lawrence North High School July 31 - August 1 for the Indiana Robotics Invitational Competition. This is the BIG off-season competition of the summer. Seventy-two teams from as far away as Florida, California, Texas, and Ontario, Canada, gathered to play in the 2009 game challenge called “Lunacy.” Of the 72 teams present, 49 were Regional and District winners, and two were National Champions. We had our work cut out for us!

Of the 72 teams present, at the end of the qualifying matches, Muncie’s own ranked #27, so we were in the top 1/3 of the group. Not bad, for playing with so many really tough teams! We ended up with a 5 - 2 record, having lost our toughest match against two undefeated teams by only four points! We were pleased with our performance at IRI. We also got to see many teams and friend, making it a great weekend all around.
