Muncie/Delaware FIRST Robotics needs YOU! The team is run by dedicated volunteers whose goal it is to bring a unique hands-on learning experience to the students. As a charitable organization*, Team 1720 is funded by grants, and monetary and in-kind donations.
“The Foundation is proud to support this unique educational experience and help provide an opportunity for creative and dedicated students to test their scientific skills in this robotics program. The adult guidance of the many volunteers serves as a valuable mentorship relationship for the students.”
- Roni Johnson, President, Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County, Inc.
"After all the time spent learning what I know, it seems prudent to pass
it along .... before I forget. I can't imagine a better environment to
do just that than the opportunity available thru FIRST and the Muncie
Robotics team. Helping others find purpose, building character and
instilling confidence are just a few of the goals of the program. And,
we get to have fun in the process. Why wouldn't people want to get
involved in this valuable program?"
"Hall of Fame tennis legend Arthur Ashe put it another way: "From what we
get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life."
–Mike Koch, Ontario Systems, Lead Engineer
"Being a parent mentor for Team 1720 has allowed me to watch the kids learn new technology and how to apply it to robotics and everyday life. Learning to be a part of a team is also very rewarding, for both myself and the students.
–David Cassel, Parent Mentor
